My website is now about 5 months old.
So far, there has been no ranking jump at all, although I recently ordered multiple PBN links and I’m monitoring the results.
In the beginning, the number of keywords in GSC steadily increased. Originally, my site had around 120–130 relevant keywords showing, but after the PBN work, it went up to around 150–200.
Last night, I checked and saw about 100 keywords showing, but by the afternoon, the number suddenly dropped to around 50–60 keywords, along with impressions going down as well. To be clear, none of these keywords had high rankings anyway.
Is this some kind of penalty, or just the “Google Dance” before a ranking jump?
For context:
There are no manual actions or security issues shown in GSC.
This is the first time I’ve experienced such sudden drops after link building, so I’m not sure if it’s a PBN footprint problem or just normal fluctuations.

For context:
- On-page SEO is well optimized.
- I have backlinks from guest posts, PBNs, and Web 2.0s for diversity.
- On another site I recently worked on, keywords went from 20 to around 40–50, then suddenly dropped today to 5–10.
- My other sites that already rank well are not experiencing this issue at all — their rankings are stable.
