I run a pet-related e-commerce site in Korea. It’s been up for a bit over a year and was doing fine until last week — then on Aug 22, traffic just fell off a cliff.
Google organic is down ~90% literally overnight.
What’s confusing is: I also manage two other websites in totally different niches (all Korean), and those are completely fine. Only this pet site tanked.
Situation on what I’ve been doing recently:
Content: I use AI to draft posts (after doing keyword research), then I rewrite/edit roughly 20–30% myself adding my personal experience & insights. I publish about 20 posts per month.
Site structure: The site started as a simple e-commerce shop for pet snacks. Recently I added a “pet brand comparison / review” section, so categories are a bit more mixed now.
Links: No backlink building at all. No PBNs, no spammy links. DR is still under 10.
I’m trying to figure out if this is:
A site structure / topical focus issue (Google confused about what my site is?)
Google catching on to my AI-assisted content
Or just hit by SPAM Update on this August
