Let’s get straight to it: SEO copywriting is the lovechild of good writing and smart strategy. It’s the art of creating content that not only ranks high on Google but also makes actual humans want to click, read, and most importantly, act.

If your content ranks but doesn’t get clicked? Useless.
If your content gets clicked, but doesn’t get read? Equally useless.
SEO copywriting fixes both.

This is one of my favourite advice/tips in your blog post:
Let’s bust a myth: SEO copywriting isn’t just long-form blog posts stuffed with keywords. In fact, it’s often short, sharp, and conversion-driven.
I'm not sure that a lot of people distinguish between the two (blog posts vs SEO specifically for conversions).

Gotta give people a compelling reason to click and buy, preferably as soon as possible.

SEO copywriting is the art of crafting content that ranks well in search engines while engaging human readers. But most businesses get it wrong—either by over-optimizing for bots or writing purely for humans without SEO strategy.

What SEO Copywriting IS (And Isn’t)
What It Is:

User-first content that answers search intent

Strategic keyword placement (without stuffing)

Structured for readability (headings, bullets, short paragraphs)

Optimized for EEAT (Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trust)

What It Isn’t:

Keyword-stuffed gibberish (e.g., "Best shoes shoes shoes buy now 2024")

AI-generated content without human editing

Thin, generic articles that regurgitate competitors

5 Common SEO Copywriting Mistakes (And Fixes)
1. Targeting the Wrong Keywords
Mistake: Only chasing high-volume, broad terms (e.g., "running shoes").
Fix: Use long-tail keywords (e.g., "best cushioned running shoes for flat feet").

2. Ignoring Search Intent
Mistake: Writing a "how-to" when users want product comparisons.
Fix: Analyze top-ranking pages—are they lists, guides, or reviews? Match their format.

3. Over-Optimizing for Bots
Mistake: Forcing keywords unnaturally (e.g., "Here’s why our best shoes are the best shoes for best runners.")
Fix: Use semantic variations (e.g., "top footwear," "ideal sneakers").

4. Weak Structure & Readability
Mistake: Walls of text with no subheadings or visuals.
Fix: Use H2/H3 headings, bullet points, and images every 300 words.

5. No Clear CTA (Call to Action)
Mistake: Ending articles abruptly without guiding readers.
Fix: Add a natural CTA (e.g., "Ready to try? Compare our top picks here.").

SEO Copywriting Checklist (Do This Instead)
Research first (Google’s "People Also Ask," competitor gaps)
Write for humans, tweak for SEO (Natural language > keyword density)
Optimize meta elements (Title tag ≤ 60 chars, compelling meta description)
Internal link wisely (3-5 relevant links per 1,000 words)
Update old content (Keep stats, examples, and CTAs fresh)
